Georgia Tech University

My summer internship experience with Young Entrepreneurs Across America has been the most rewarding summer of my life. Because of YEAA I have been able to make my dream of becoming an entrepreneur one step closer to reality. During my spring semester YEAA provided me with training on how to market and promote a small business using a variety of methods, then provided me with the essential materials and knowledge I would need to ensure a successful experience. As the summer approached, YEAA taught me an enormous amount about sales tactics, leadership, and business management. Once classes ended and summer began, the real work (and fun) began. Because of YEAA I have now interviewed, hired, trained, managed, and lead a team of students to perform with excellence in the painting industry. The real-world business skills that you will learn as a Branch Manager with Young Entrepreneurs Across America cannot be taught in any classroom, and are well worth the hard work required for this internship.

At the beginning of this journey I didn’t know what to expect. From the info session held at Tech to the Entrepreneurship training, I thought I knew what I was getting myself into but I still had no idea. The executives kept saying how challenging it is and how much money you will make if you push yourself and I still had no idea what I was getting myself into.  I had a full class schedule at Georgia Tech plus I was preparing for the LSAT to go to law school and trying to run my business. Time management was crucial.

When summer hit things and business went into full force and there were ups and downs but I kept telling myself why I chose this internship. And I chose it to push myself. I chose it to see how far I can go and to see if I could accomplish it. I pushed myself to reach my goals and I succeeded a lot further than most and I am damn proud of myself. I’ve met good people along the way and I made some cash and I would trade this summer for anything!
